The Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership and the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century announced the launch of REEGLE at the renewables conference in Beijing last November. The ‘database of databases’ is designed to connect the world's sources of information on renewables and efficiency, and will include information on all areas of clean energy, including jurisdiction, laws, policies, measures, finance, investment, reports and analyses. he site will be launched on May 10 in New York City. REEGLE will be expanded as REEEP and REN21 negotiate with database and information providers to allow access to the REEGLE search engine. The first version contains an ‘Actors Catalogue’ of organizations that are involved in policy, regulation and financing of renewables and efficiency, and contains links to 600 initiatives, partnerships and groups involved in renewables and energy efficiency. REEGLE is a product of the Information Clearinghouse on renewables, a joint project of REEEP and REN21, with support from the department of environment in the Netherlands, Germany and United Kingdom.
